Vulcan V510 Hybrid Pickleball Paddle

The Vulcan V510 Hybrid Pickleball Paddle has a traditional shape that's perfect for mixing things up on court and adapting to any scenario. It has a fairly broad face that allows players to make use of different areas of the paddle thanks to a generous sweet spot. It has a slightly thicker than usual grip for cushioned handling and comes in a balanced weight that provides both pop and control.

The Vulcan V510 Hybrid Pickleball Paddle has a 4-3/4" long handle and weighs an average of 7.9 oz. The carbon fiber surface is 7-3/4" wide and helps give you the great ball feel that graphite and carbon fiber paddles are known for. Geometric shapes overlay a white background for a clean and minimal design. Vulcan's name is printed vertically along the left side of the face with the paddle name in the lower right.

The Vulcan V510 Hybrid Pickleball Paddle keeps you covered on court defense and has a solid face that allows you to respond tactically in any situation.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8"

Reviews of the Vulcan V510 Hybrid Graphite Pickleball Paddle by Pickleball Central Staff:

"First things first – Vulcan knows grips. Every Vulcan paddle I hit with during testing had a fantastic feel to the grip. I found the V510 to be a good paddle for anyone looking for a combo of baseline play and predictable kitchen game. The sweet spot is middle of the paddle and overall the mishits weren’t clunkers, there is definitely some forgiveness in this paddle. The traditional shape gives you room to block shots with confidence. If you are looking to overpower your opponent you may look for something more powerful. However, if your game is get the ball back from anywhere on the court and get yourself to the kitchen to score, you will enjoy the V510 from Vulcan. One of the best paddles we've seen at this price point!"

"I am a player that loves a wider body paddle that is well balanced (not head heavy) with softer play characteristics so I can have confidence when dinking, dropping, and blocking. My testing of the V510 from Vulcan was really fun. The paddle has typical graphite face (carbon fiber) play characteristics - it has a large sweet spot, and mis-hits don't die because you hit slightly off center. There was plenty of power when you hit a drive or overhead, but dinks and drops were very easy to control. I was confident in rapid kitchen exchanges due to the balance of the paddle and it's wider traditional shaped face. This paddle is a great value, and I think Vulcan has a winner here."

"Vulcan’s mid-weight hybrid performance paddle strikes a nice balance of control and power in a modern looking standard size package. The feel and balance are nice and the grip (like all Vulcan paddles) is a big plus in terms of feel and purchase even with sweaty hands. A soft feeling but solid paddle the V510 offers nice control on hard drives and dink shots. If I had to make a determination I would say this paddle falls just slightly to the control side in the control/power balance with a wide sweet spot and fairly predictable response. While I prefer a little more pop out at the end of the paddle (I really like their new V550), I have to say that the 510 offers a more than sufficient level of power. I think an exceptional choice for an intermediate player looking for a well balanced paddle in terms of feel and play characteristics. For the money, this is one of my new favorites."

Video Transcript - Corrine Carr

Hi, I'm Corrine Carr with Team Vulcan, and I'm going to talk to you about the V510 Hybrid. The Hybrid is a good mix of control and power, so if you like to drive from the baseline or speed up to the kitchen it's great. Also, if you need to slow down any hard shots it works really well for that, so if that's the type of game that you like to play, then it's a perfect paddle for you.

Test Reviews of the Vulcan V510 Hybrid Pickleball Paddle:

"I was able to use the Vulcan V510 Paddle for a couple of days. Being relatively new to the game, I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a little lighter than the paddle I've been using and I liked that. Felt my swing was a little quicker and reaction time was improved. The grip felt very comfortable in my hand. What I liked best was the 'pop' the paddle had when making good clean contact. The ball really jumped off the paddle and had a good sound to it. It took a little adjusting to get used to, but it was very effective for making some good passing shots. I didn't feel like I needed to put a lot of power in the swing to get good speed on the ball. For me, I would say the V510 is best suited for someone with a good finesse game."

"Let me just start by saying I freaking loved, loved, loved hitting with this paddle! I’ve got one on order as I’m writing. I would have easily shelled out three times what I actually paid. Play: Nice texture for all you spinners and other sneaky players. My serves moved exactly the way I wanted them to and the 'pop' upon contact was on point with my serve strength. Placement of shots was predictable and the dink game was brought lower. The forgiving nature of this paddle was evident and any newbies would enjoy this one for the false confidence it will instill (Yeah, keep drilling, or else keep setting us up). Construction: I know nothing about how these things are made. I’m assuming there is some wizard somewhere pulling them out of a magic hat. So, good job Harry or Merlin. You put in a nice oversized sweet spot which is easily found. The short handle was perfect for me as I never use two hands (why would you?) and the weight seemed well distributed throughout the paddle. Recommendations: As an instructor for beginners I’ve told everyone about this one! Once mine arrives (hurry the heck up Fedex or whoever!) I WILL be forcing everyone I know to play with it. Hey Vulcan, you want reps? Hit me up."

I love this paddle. It has just the right amount of roughness on the surface to grab the ball and the hand grip is perfect too.

I am a new pickleball player, and this is my first paddle. It feels great in my hand. Love the 4.5 inch handle. It’s light and easy to maneuver.

The paddle is just what I ordered and I’m very happy with it. It came promptly. As others have mentioned, it was not well packaged but was just dropped into an envelope with very thin bubble wrap lining. It was not damaged but I think that was just lucky.
