Franklin Signature Carbon STK Paddle

The Signature Carbon STK Paddle from Franklin Pickleball offers exceptional control and power that situates it at the top of the Franklin collection of paddles. The premium Toray T700 Carbon Fiber surface is at the heart of this paddle's exceptional balance of control and power. The naturally textured finish lasts game after game so you can confidently hit cut and slice shots, while placing controlled drops and resets from mid-court, and strategic dinks from the kitchen line. The durable construction is backed up by a thick polymer honeycomb that offers remarkable response, and the elongated shape lends itself to ground-stroke and overhead power for when you need to end a rally with authority.

To cater specifically to your game, Franklin offers the Signature Carbon STK Paddle in both 14.5mm (0.57") and 17mm (0.67") thicknesses. Whether you are using the 14.5mm to layer some power into your game, or the 17mm because you need maximum control, the 16.5" by 7.5" inch proportions will ensure you can hit the shots you mean to, when you want to. Meanwhile the 5.6" inch elongated handle and cushioned grip will help you reach tricky shots and limit vibrations that cause fatigue and discomfort.

The Signature Carbon STK Pickleball Paddle from Franklin is the thicker, more control-oriented carbon fiber version of the ever-popular Signature Pickleball Paddle. Its premium nitro-infused carbon fiber face enables the paddle to balance control and power better than ever before so that you can win points and matches consistently.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".

Reviews of the Signature Carbon STK Paddle by Pickleball Central Staff:

"I've always loved carbon fiber paddles with thick cores, and the Franklin Signature Carbon STK is no exception. Overhead slams felt like they left the court a bit quicker with the 14.5mm model, but nonetheless, my drives and serves with the 17mm model still felt incredibly powerful thanks to the leverage achieved with the long handle and 16.5" overall length. I found the Franklin STK paddle to deliver a very soft and consistent touch at the kitchen line, too, and it certainly did not take long to get used to. The carbon fiber surface's ability to bend the ball on serve returns with backspin felt to be on par with the other well-constructed carbon and graphite paddles on the market. I think aggressive and finesse-oriented players alike will gravitate toward this paddle for their own reasons. Whether you are attacking down the line or creating pop-ups with your spin, the Signature Carbon STK has you covered. "

  • Quite an Upgrade

I've only been playing pickleball for five or six months now. Most of that time, I was using some sort of Amazon paddle. All those Amazon sets are great to get you started, but they have no texture for ball spin and are mostly in the ultra-light category. I've played with this new Franklin paddle for about eight hours, and the difference is notable. It took me a few games to adjust to the longer handle and the added weight, but wow, is it worth it! My serve is faster and has more topspin. This paddle has both more pop and more control than an entry-level paddle.

Paddle is a solid with plenty of sweet spot for power and finesse.

  • Franklin Signature Carbo STK 14.5 and 17 mm thickness

I am trying out the 17 and 14.5 paddle thickness. 17 mm thickness has a thicker handle than usual but I am liking it, the touch, control and spin. I wanted the 7.9 ounces but 8.1 was the lightest they had. Even so it is working well and will be my main paddle for harder/faster indoor and outdoor balls. The 14.5 mm thickness has standard handle thickness and more power than I like. I have difficulty controlling this paddle with softer indoor balls and will most likely sell it to someone who is looking for more power than control. It is marked up too much to try and return it after playing several times.

The cover bag is too small for the Franklin signature USA, Carbon STK paddle. Come on Franklin designers, the cover bags needs to be universal on all Franklin paddles, not select models.***PBC Response*** Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! I bought the Franklin Signature Carbon because it had all the features I was looking for. It had a 14.5mm core which is right between the upper limit for power and the lower limit for control. It had the longer handle and it had the aspect ratio I wanted (7.5 in width and 16.5 in length). It also had the carbon fiber face which again is a good balance for power and control. I've hit with it several times now and it feels great, just what I was expecting. I really like it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good balance between power and control at a reasonable price.

  • Good paddle but it’s falling apart

I ordered this paddle a few months ago but only recently began using it. After only a couple weeks playing with it the edge guard started falling off and now almost every time I use it another part of the guard will pop off. Based on other reviews it seems this is a common issue with this model too. It’s unfortunate because the paddle feels great to play with but this is an annoying defect and I keep having to repair the paddle after each time I play.

  • Good feel, poor quality

I really liked the Franklin STK at first, good feel and face grip, very quick swing speed. I found myself hitting strong top spin drives very well. However, after just a couple games, the edge guard popped loose. The paddle also made a crazy dead sound if hit near the edges, all players would notice and comment about it. I tried multiple paddles to see if this issue was just with the one I ordered, but the 2nd paddle had the same poor quality issues. If it felt as solid as other brands on the market, I would use it, but the build quality is just too poor for me. ***PBC Response*** JT, thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and I am sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with your paddle. What do I bother to write a review? Cause Pickle Ballers help each other. After reading some reviews, I decided to test my luck. Bingo, the edge guards fell off from all sides, they are not even glued. So disappointed for a $150 paddle. If you want see pictures, go to Axxzon. I posted some pics there. ***PBC Response*** Lake, thank you for taking the time to leave this paddle a review. While this paddle plays well for most people, we have seen a number of defective models have the issues you described. Please know that Pickleball Central and Franklin are both committed to you getting the paddle you deserve, and we would be happy to replace your paddle free of charge. Great grip, great feel, great texture. Went with the 17mm and couldn't be happier. Finally found my new go-to. 10 stars, if it was possible.

Perfect balance of power and control. I've played with many carbon paddles, however the finish on this one is slightly different in a good way. The carbon on this paddle creates great spin, but the true balance across all areas of the game is why I love it. As a new 5.0 player I'm excited to keep taking my game to the next level with this paddle!
